Saida Mirziyoyeva, a Presidential Aide, participated in the "Colorful Asia: Exhibition of Asian Costumes" held in China to celebrate the 19th Asian Games.
Saida Mirziyoyeva expressed her honor and appreciation for hosting the international event at the renowned Silk Museum, highlighting its global significance. She emphasized the historical connection between Uzbekistan and China through craftsmanship, dating back thousands of years, especially during periods of silk trade. This connection, symbolized by the Great Silk Road, strengthened diplomatic relations, cultural exchanges, and technology transfers, fostering mutual development and shared traditions and values.
In her words,
"Our historical connection with silk is an integral part of our shared cultural heritage, and this exhibition offers a fantastic opportunity to showcase it."
Saida Mirziyoyeva extended gratitude to their Chinese hosts for their warm hospitality and genuine interest in Uzbek culture. The exhibition, which features 20 artifacts from the collections of the Samarkand Museum-Reserve and the Uzbekistan State Art Museum, will run until November 12. The exhibition includes traditional Uzbek fabrics, clothing, and jewelry, allowing visitors to appreciate the finest examples of traditional Uzbek craftsmanship crafted by Uzbek masters.
According to the Cultural and Arts Development Forum, on September 26, the "Uzbekistan Oqshom Festival" dedicated to Uzbekistan's rich cultural and historical heritage took place in the city of Xianju.
As part of the Oqshom event, the process of creating traditional Uzbek ceramics was demonstrated, and the musical segment featured performances by the renowned "Bahor" state ensemble, "Maqom" ensemble, and folk artist Abduhoshim Ismoilov's compositions.
