    Uzbekistan and Hungary strengthen ties for IT services export and education advancement

    In a recent diplomatic gathering, Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov hosted József Rózsa, the newly appointed Ambassador of Hungary to Uzbekistan, for a productive conversation regarding the advancement of IT services export and education in both countries.

    The meeting commenced with a comprehensive video presentation, showcasing the impressive strides that Uzbekistan has made in the realm of digital technologies. Minister Shermatov emphasized the nation's commitment to fostering digitalization as a key driver of economic development, particularly in light of Uzbekistan's landlocked geography and burgeoning population.

    Minister Shermatov underscored the importance of facilitating remote working and expanding the export of IT services as a strategic objective. He noted that attracting talented youth to high-paying roles, such as the development and export of Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services, is central to this endeavor.

    Shermatov highlighted that these positions require no extraordinary prerequisites apart from proficiency in English or other foreign languages. He also pointed out the rapid growth in English language proficiency among the younger generation, presenting a promising opportunity to engage them in well-compensated roles within the IT services sector.

    In response, Ambassador József Rózsa commended the systematic approach Uzbekistan has taken in fostering IT development within the country. He expressed Hungary's eagerness to collaborate with Uzbekistan in the fields of IT education and IT services export. Both nations believe that cross-country cooperation can lead to the sharing of invaluable experiences and knowledge.
