The delegation of Fergana region, led by Governor Khairullo Bozorov, has actively engaged in discussions and negotiations at the III Forum on Uzbekistan-Russia Interregional Cooperation in Kazan. This participation has resulted in a series of significant agreements and discussions aimed at fostering deeper ties between Uzbekistan and Russia.
One of the highlights of the event was the signing of a comprehensive plan of measures for the years 2023-2025, outlining the future collaboration between the administration of Fergana region and the government of the Republic of Bashkortostan of the Russian Federation. Governor Khairullo Bozorov and First Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan, Rustam Muradov, took the lead in signing this pivotal document. It encompasses a wide range of areas, including joint investment projects, event organization, product delivery logistics, and cooperation in the fields of education, tourism, culture, and migration.
The III Forum on Uzbekistan-Russia Interregional Cooperation saw a total of 71 investment agreements and trade deals with a cumulative value of $362mn being inked. This includes $104mn in investment agreements and $258mn in trade agreements. The negotiations are still underway, indicating the substantial interest and potential for growth in the economic ties between Fergana region and Russia.
Governor Khairullo Bozorov also held a significant meeting with Rustam Muradov, the First Deputy Prime Minister of Bashkortostan, to deliberate on ways to elevate their mutual cooperation to new heights. During these discussions, both sides explored the promising prospects of expanding collaboration in sectors such as agriculture, light industry, construction, furniture manufacturing, and machine building.
In addition to their engagement with Bashkortostan, the Fergana delegation had productive meetings with other Russian regions. Discussions with Deputy Governor Dmitriy Ionin of Sverdlovsk Region and Deputy Governor Ivan Kutsevlyak of Chelyabinsk Region centered on the enhancement of existing agreements, with a shared commitment to developing a roadmap for more extensive cooperation between Fergana region and St. Petersburg.
The III Forum on Uzbekistan-Russia Interregional Cooperation has clearly demonstrated the determination of Fergana region and its partners to strengthen economic and cultural ties between Uzbekistan and Russia.
