His visit aimed to bolster security and defense cooperation between the two nations, emphasizing regional stability and security.
During his visit, Minister Heappey held crucial talks with key figures in Uzbekistan's defense and security establishment. These discussions included meetings with General Jo’rayev, Commander of the National Guard, Ismatulla Irgashev, Special Representative of the President for Afghanistan, and General Bakhodir Kurbanov, the Minister of Defence.
The talks focused on the importance of working collaboratively to promote regional stability and enhance security in Central Asia. Minister Heappey's visit builds upon his previous trip to Uzbekistan in 2021, demonstrating the UK's commitment to strengthening its strategic partnerships in the region.
