The Energy Minister of Kazakhstan, Almassadam Satkaliyev, revealed to reporters that gas delivery from Russia to Uzbekistan may commence by late October. In preparation for the transit, repairs are currently underway in Kazakhstan.
The gas volumes align with the request made by Uzbekistan, and the transit will begin upon receipt of the application. The repair work is scheduled to wrap up by the end of October.
In June, a contract was inked between Uzbekistan's Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, and "Gazprom" to supply Russian gas to Uzbekistan and establish its transportation system.
Uzbekistan has declared its readiness to import Russian gas starting from October 1, with the target date for export set for the fourth quarter of 2023. The agreement specifies a delivery volume of 9mn cubic meters per day, or almost 2.8bn cubic meters per year.
Besides, "Gazprom" signed an agreement with QazaqGaz of Kazakhstan to offer transportation services for Russian natural gas to Uzbekistan's consumers.
