In the past half-year, foreign tourists visiting Kyrgyzstan contributed $471mn in income, marking a 2.1-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022 the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism of Kyrgyzstan informs.
During this specific timeframe, tourism companies saw a profit of KGS 1.1bn (equivalent to $13.2mn) from foreign tourists' excursions, representing a 1.9-fold growth compared to the previous year. Additionally, resorts generated KGS 413mn (approximately $4.6mn) in revenue, reflecting a 19% increase from the prior year.
Hotels and eateries have also experienced substantial revenue growth. Hotels provided services worth over KGS 1bn (equivalent to $11.2mn), indicating a 1.3-fold surge compared to 2022. Similarly, restaurants and other dining establishments boosted their income by 25.2%, reaching KGS 4.1bn (about $45mn).
Transportation services catering to travelers coming to Kyrgyzstan generated KGS 3.5bn (approximately $39.4mn) in income. Consequently, their overall revenue increased by 18.6% over the year.
