Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan strengthen aviation ties to boost tourism and connectivity

The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan, Musa Dzhamanbaev, recently held a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways, Khudaikulov Shuhrat Shavkatovich, to discuss significant developments in the field of civil aviation between the two neighboring countries. This meeting, which took place on August 6, highlighted the intent to increase flight frequencies between Tashkent and Bishkek, with potential implications for the tourism sector.

In a report released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, discussions between the two parties centered on both current and future collaboration in civil aviation. One of the central points of focus was the expansion of flight connections and the exploration of opportunities to increase the number of flights operated by the national carriers of Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.

Tourism, being a key driver of economic growth and cultural exchange, was a major catalyst for this initiative. Recognizing the growing interest among tourists from both countries and beyond, the Uzbek side extended an invitation to explore new seasonal flight routes, particularly the Samarkand-Tamchy-Osh-Tashkent route. The potential of this route holds promise for enhancing regional connectivity and facilitating the movement of travelers.

In response, Uzbekistan Airways unveiled its plans to bolster flights between Tashkent and Bishkek. This strategic move aligns with the shared goal of promoting tourism and strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. By increasing flight frequencies, travelers will enjoy improved accessibility, leading to a potentially positive impact on the tourism sector's growth and overall economic development.

The meeting concluded on a promising note, with both parties agreeing to actively collaborate with tour operators. This partnership is expected to streamline travel arrangements, provide enhanced services to tourists, and further stimulate the tourism industry's growth.

As the aviation landscape evolves, both nations are poised to reap the benefits of this strategic move, further solidifying their positions as key players in the Central Asian region.
