In Fergana Region, Uzbekistan a teenager accidentally shot a five-year-old boy with an air rifle, as reported on Zo‘rTV's program, "Bu Kun."
Police Department is conducting a preliminary investigation into the incident.
The young child, residing in the "Karnaychi" neighborhood, went to fetch his father, who was working not far from their home, for a meal. At that moment, the teenager discharged the air rifle, unaware that it was loaded.
"Since the father works nearby, the child used to go and call him. When the boy was sitting next to his father, the young man pulled out the rifle from under the floor covering and fired, thinking there was no bullet inside. He's in the 7th or 8th grade, lives a couple of neighborhoods away from us, and came to our house for water," the injured boy's mother recounted.
The surgery lasted for five hours. The bullet passed through the left lung and entered the left chamber of the heart. "We retrieved the bullet through a full cardiac arrest. Currently, the boy's condition is satisfactory," stated the doctor.
