During the American-Uzbek Business Forum, which was part of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's visit to the United States, an enterprise affiliated with "Thermal Power Stations" in Uzbekistan, known as Uzbekenergotaymir, inked a substantial $60mn contract with General Electric Global Parts and Products.
This significant partnership is centered around the modernization of Uzbekistan's power plant energy units.
In addition to the contract, General Electric will also provide new components and facilitate the restoration of previously dismantled equipment. The modernization effort is expected to introduce advanced, highly efficient equipment and state-of-the-art technologies. This, in turn, will result in cost savings through reduced fuel consumption and the digitalization of operational processes. Ilkhom Rajabov, the CEO of Uzbekenergotaymir, emphasized these benefits.
During the negotiations, both parties agreed to a training program where young talents from Uzbekenergotaymir will receive instruction in repair and maintenance work from their American counterparts.
Established in 1967, Uzbekenergotaymir's primary objective has been the repair and maintenance of energy equipment in Central Asian power plants. The organization encompasses nine production sites, four production workshops, and two specialized laboratories (focused on electrotechnical, metalworking, and welding processes). Its overall production area spans a significant 8 hectares.
