President Tokayev strengthens Kazakhstan's global economic ties in key meetings with China and Qatar

President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev embarked on a series of crucial meetings with prominent business leaders from China and Qatar on September 13, demonstrating his commitment to bolstering Kazakhstan's economic ties on the global stage. These discussions followed a day of deliberations with Kazakhstan's own business magnates, reinforcing the nation's dedication to fostering international partnerships.

At a meeting graced by the presence of Ramez Al-Khayyat and Moutaz Al-Khayyat, the distinguished founders of Qatar's Power International Holding, President Tokayev emphasized the pivotal role the company could play in strengthening economic relations between Kazakhstan and Qatar, which has long been regarded as a strategic partner in the Middle East for the Central Asian nation.

The talks encompassed a wide spectrum of potential collaborations, with a particular focus on energy and geological exploration ventures. In addition to these sectors, discussions revolved around potential cooperation in agriculture, developmental projects, and healthcare initiatives. President Tokayev underscored Kazakhstan's dedication to creating an environment conducive to attracting foreign direct investment, signifying the nation's commitment to economic progress.

During his meeting with China's LY iTech Chairwoman, Fang Qin Zeng, and HGTECH Co. Chairman, Ma Xinqiang, President Tokayev emphasized the enduring significance of China as a strategic partner for Kazakhstan, particularly within the context of the global Belt and Road Initiative, which aims to promote economic connectivity between nations.

President Tokayev received an informative overview of China's leading high-tech companies, which specialize in producing components for consumer electronics, automobiles, and smartphones, with a strong focus on pioneering technologies. The discussions explored the potential for investment projects and the establishment of a stable supply chain for rare metals from Kazakhstan, which are vital for the production of components and laser equipment. This move towards securing a robust supply of essential materials highlights the depth of Kazakhstan's commitment to nurturing mutually beneficial partnerships with foreign investors.

Furthermore, the discussions encompassed the critical issue of enhancing Kazakhstan's innovative capacity, signaling the nation's aspiration to remain at the forefront of technological advancements.

These high-level meetings with business leaders from Qatar and China serve as a testament to Kazakhstan's determination to forge stronger global ties and expand its economic horizons. As President Tokayev continues to explore promising prospects with international partners, Kazakhstan remains poised to emerge as a significant player in the global economic landscape.
