In a significant development aimed at enhancing bilateral ties and facilitating travel between Kazakhstan and Türkiye, Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu announced plans to open new air routes connecting the cities of Aktau and Shymkent to Türkiye. The announcement came during a meeting with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan on September 11.
Currently, there are 93 flights operating between the two nations, including established routes connecting the capitals of Astana and Ankara, as well as Almaty and Ankara. The decision to introduce direct flights from Aktau and Shymkent to Türkiye reflects a commitment to strengthening the already cordial relationship between Kazakhstan and Türkiye.
Minister Nurtleu underscored the importance of these initiatives, emphasizing that they contribute significantly to the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.
"There is every reason to believe that our common goals include expanding the scope of political dialogue as well as trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation between Kazakhstan and Türkiye," he stated.
