On September 5, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko met with Tanziila Narbayeva, the Chairperson of the Senate of Uzbekistan.
Lukashenko commended the effective collaboration between their nations and their mutual support on the international stage and in various integration groups. He expressed his appreciation for Uzbekistan's assistance in Belarus's accelerated membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO).
Lukashenko also shared his personal sentiments, revealing that he has been closely monitoring Uzbekistan's development for an extended period.
He praised President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, stating,
"You have an excellent President. I openly tell him that he mustn't disappoint the people who trust and believe in him. It's fortunate because he passionately aims to enhance the lives of Uzbeks; Uzbekistan has a promising future. My advice is to keep your President for as long as possible. He needs time to realize his vision."
Lukashenko also mentioned his multiple visits to Uzbekistan, particularly admiring the stunning landscapes in the southern regions. The current visit of the Uzbek parliamentary delegation to Minsk takes place following significant domestic events there – a constitutional referendum and an early presidential election.
