Under the decree which focuses on comprehensive measures for the fundamental improvement of the healthcare system in Uzbekistan, modern technical equipment is being supplied to neurosurgery departments.
The Ministry of Health's information service disclosed that in 2022, a total of 975 patients were identified during medical examinations conducted in various regions, with 114 of them undergoing surgical procedures.
The completion rate of advanced medical practices reached 48%, representing a consistent annual increase of approximately 5% compared to previous years. Additionally, nine new surgical techniques have been mastered. These include preventive and acute treatments for conditions such as epilepsy, cerebral palsy, stroke, intravenous chemotherapy for pediatric oncology like retinoblastoma, awake brain tumor surgeries, and various other surgical procedures, as highlighted by the Ministry.
Furthermore, 58 specialized facilities for children's neurosurgery have been established across the regions. The provision of essential medical supplies and medications has reached a commendable 99%.
