According to Saida Mirziyoyeva, assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, the Children's Library of the Republic has opened its doors to book-loving citizens starting August 31. The library, which has a rich history, was previously home to the Tashkent City Duma and Public Assembly before becoming the famous children's library in 1965.
After years of neglect, the building underwent restoration in 2020 to preserve its high architecture from the last century. Magnificent murals from the middle of the previous century were discovered during the restoration process, blending history with modernity.
The library's fund includes 180,000 books on Uzbek and international children's literature, and visitors will receive an ID card for electronic registration, book borrowing, and returns.
Saida Mirziyoyeva hopes that book-loving compatriots will appreciate the work of the masters and enjoy the newly restored library.
