The Agency for Statistics of Uzbekistan has recently published data that reveals a concerning trend in the healthcare sector.
The report indicates over 300 patients per doctor in the country.
As of January 1, Uzbekistan registered an average doctor-to-individual ratio of 1:358.
The figure varies by region, with the capital city having the best situation, as there are 123 people per doctor.
In contrast, Surkhandarya has the worst, with 558 people per doctor - 4.5 times higher than in Tashkent.

As per the official report dated August 17, there has been a significant rise in the count of foreign nationals availing of medical facilities in Uzbekistan during the initial six months of 2023.
