Amid recent reports of drone attacks on the Russian capital, Turkmenistan Airlines, the only national carrier, suspended all flights to Moscow in August.
The aircompany reports in a press release that the measure was taken "due to the situation in the Moscow air zone, as well as based on a risk assessment to ensure flight safety."
Passengers who had already bought tickets for the cancelled flights were informed that flights from Moscow to the Turkmen capital were transferred to another route - Kazan (Tatarstan, Russia) - Ashgabat (Turkmenistan).
The airline promises to provide a free shuttle service from Moscow airport to Kazan air harbour.
