On July 25th, it was reported by Haber7 that a passenger attempted suicide during a Turkish Airlines flight from Istanbul to Morocco, which resulted in an emergency landing in Algeria. The flight, operated as Flight TK 619 on a Boeing 737-Max 8, departed from Istanbul Airport at 12:40, en route to Marrakech, Morocco. The unidentified passenger's prolonged stay in the restroom raised concerns among the flight crew.
Upon opening the restroom, the crew discovered the distressing situation and promptly provided medical attention, with assistance from an onboard doctor. Despite their efforts, the passenger's life could not be saved.
Consequently, the flight had to make an emergency landing in Algeria at approximately 15:15. Medical teams on the ground confirmed the passenger's death. In response to the tragic event, Algerian authorities initiated an investigation, and Turkish Airlines cooperated by providing statements related to the incident.
