Uzbekistan produced 161,610 passenger cars in the first half of the year. Reportedly, Cobalt was the most manufactured vehicle during the reported period.
The types of cars produced in Uzbekistan from January to June 2023 were as follows: 49,458 Cobalt units, 37,084 Lacetti-Gentra units, 34,944 Damas units, 15,071 Tracker units, 11,222 Onix units, 2,056 Nexia T-250 units, and 11,775 special passenger cars.
UzAuto Motors ceased sales contracts for Damas, Labo, Cobalt, and Gentra in December 2022 and recently announced discontinuing two Onix models. In July, car production lines in Asaka were temporarily halted for two weeks by UzAuto Motors.
Earlier, Daryo reported that UzAuto Motors had announced its intentions to organize the decentralized assembly of Chevrolet Onix vehicles at the SaryarkaAvtoProm plant in the Kostanay region of Kazakhstan. This information was disclosed during a working group meeting composed of deputy heads of governments.
