Uzbekistan exported more than $85 million worth of natural gas to China in June, citing data from China's Main Customs Administration, TASS has reported.
In the first half of 2023, Uzbekistan's natural gas exports to China amounted to $203.9 mn, which is a 50% decrease compared to the same period in 2022.
Despite the decline, Uzbekistan remains one of the top five major suppliers of natural gas to China, ranking behind Turkmenistan, Russia, Myanmar, and Kazakhstan.
The monthly trend of gas exports from Uzbekistan to China shows a gradual increase, with the monthly export volume rising by nearly 9% or $7.14 mn compared to May.
According to the State Committee of Uzbekistan, the country's total natural gas exports reached $278.4 mn since the beginning of 2023, marking a one-third decrease from the previous year's corresponding indicator.
