Kazakhstan has recently been ranked 31st out of 100 countries in terms of proficiency in business, technology, and data science, according to media citing the 2023 Coursera Global Skills Report.
The report analyzed the progress of over 124mn registered learners worldwide, with the 100 countries in question accounting for over 90% of Coursera's international educational platform learners.
Kazakhstan's students demonstrated a high level of proficiency in technology, at 96%, while their data science proficiency level was 58%, and their business proficiency level was 14%.
The countries that topped the list were Switzerland, Spain, and Germany, while Nigeria was ranked at the bottom.
Coursera is an online educational platform that boasts over 120mn learners, 7,000 institutions, and 5,400 courses from 300 of the world's top universities and industry partners.
Recently, the CEO of Coursera, Jeff Maggioncalda, shared insights into Kazakhstan's user preferences for online courses in an interview with the Astana Times.
In September of last year, Kazakhstan's Center for Human Resources Development, responsible for the Skills Enbek platform and Coursera, signed a strategic partnership memorandum to develop online education in Kazakhstan.
