CAMC Engineering company is investing $16 mn in projects in the Kashkadarya region, Spot.uz has reported.
During a visit to China, the delegation led by the region's governor met with representatives of the Chinese company, CAMC Engineering. Both parties reached an agreement to establish a tourist zone named "Kaynar" in the Kitab district of the region. The zone is expected to serve up to 200,000 foreign tourists annually and will have a master plan developed according to international standards.
Additionally, a contract was signed to attract direct investments amounting to $15 mn for the construction of a cable car in the city of Kitab.
As a result of the negotiations, the total volume of investments reached $16 mn.
Another significant topic discussed during the meeting was the joint development of a special economic zone near the Karshi International Airport. CAMC Engineering plans to involve other Chinese companies to realize this project.
Furthermore, the transit potential of the Kashkadarya region was highlighted in relation to the construction of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. This project opens access to the market of Afghanistan for Chinese entrepreneurs from the region.
