Authorities have identified almost 400 violations of road objects in just five months, Uzbekistan's Ministry of Transport has reported.
Of the 1,519 road objects inspected, 389 violations were found, resulting in 254 mandatory instructions being issued to customers, contractors, designers, balancers of facilities, and other organizations.
Some 20 administrative protocols were drawn up against officials who committed serious violations and failed to eliminate orders in time, while in 52 cases, construction and installation works for UZS 1.96bn (nearly $170,000) were ordered to be excluded from payment.
The Prosecutor General of Uzbekistan has previously questioned the independence of inspection bodies.
