For over a hundred years, Türkiye has been home to many heroes who have inspired us with their courage and dedication in various fields. Their breakthroughs have helped our country, state, and nation to progress, and they have shown the world that our loyalty to democracy is unwavering.
Ambassador Olgan Bekar said in his welcoming speech.
As we remember our martyrs and veterans, we must also acknowledge that they are the greatest legacy of Türkiye, and we must commit to living up to the honor that they have given us by sacrificing their lives for our country. For over a hundred years, Türkiye has been home to many heroes who have inspired us with their courage and dedication in various fields. Their breakthroughs have helped our country, state, and nation progress, showing the world that our loyalty to democracy is unwavering. As we celebrate the centenary of our Republic, we must remember to follow the principles of commitment to the nation, sovereignty, democracy, and the rule of law. We must also continue our fight against FETÖ, especially at home and abroad. We must always be vigilant against those who operate against our nation and work with other countries to fight against terrorism. I am proud to say that the Republic of Türkiye and Uzbekistan have a strong relationship growing daily. We must continue to work together to protect our democracies and to honor the memories of all our martyrs who sacrificed their lives for our country's unity and democracy.
Ambassador praised the Türkiye's people for their courage, dedication, and solidarity, which have inspired many heroes across different fields.
'Our country has inspired many more heroes who have fulfilled the task that falls on them in various fields with the breakthrough accomplishments of our State and nation. This victory was an engagement with Türkiye's State and nation that showed its commitment to democracy. It has been demonstrated that our Republic, where we celebrate this centenary, will continue to exist for centuries following the principles of commitment to the nation, sovereignty, democracy, and the rule of law', Ambassador noted.
Ambassador also recalled the day of July 16, 2016:
'On July 15, 2016, I was serving as ambassador to Mogadishu, Somalia. I was in Mogadishu. It was an unforgettable day for us. Because on the evening of July 15 in Mogadishu, the news of that treacherous coup attempt in Somalia began to arrive, and we closely followed the developments in this regard all day at night and the next day'.
The head of the diplomatic mission also noted that the bilateral relations with Uzbekistan are progressing at the highest level in all areas, including cooperation in the fight against terrorism.
'There's a saying in Türkiye that goes, "What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger." And that's exactly what happened that day. We emerged stronger as a nation. I hope no country, including Uzbekistan, ever experiences such traitors. Our people have become more interconnected and interdependent, and our unity has grown stronger. We are all called to be one heart, and we are working together to help our state in every way possible. The emotions that people forgot that day have started to come back to life, and we are moving forward with renewed strength',
Özgür Onur Özgüven, Türkiye-Uzbekistan Business Council Chairperson told Daryo correspondent.
