American military personnel have transported 39 oil tankers from Syria to Iraq, according to the Syrian state agency SANA, RIA News has reported.
According to sources in the Al-Yarubiyah area of the Syrian province of Al-Hasakah, 39 oil tankers accompanied by military vehicles were heading from Syria to northern Iraq through the "Mahmoudiya" border crossing, which is operating illegally in the province.
Sources also added that American military personnel imported 30 trucks and tankers carrying cement and materials through the "Al-Walid" checkpoint in Al-Hasakah as part of strengthening their unlawful bases.
Earlier, the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Faisal Mekdad, stated that the country's oil and gas sector has incurred damages amounting to $107 bn from 2011 to 2022.
The US armed forces unlawfully control territories in northern and northeastern Syria, specifically in the provinces of Deir ez-Zor, Al-Hasakah, and Raqqa, where Syria's largest oil and gas fields are located. The official Damascus government has repeatedly referred to the presence of American military personnel on its territory as occupation and state piracy, with the objective of openly stealing oil.
