In an exciting development for book enthusiasts in Uzbekistan, the renowned Russian book service, Litres, is expanding its operations into the country's market. Report by "Kommersant," says, Litres will introduce the Litres.uz website and mobile applications for iOS and Android devices.
With an initial collection of approximately 1.5 thousand books in the Uzbek language, as well as electronic and audio books in Russian and other languages, Litres aims to cater to a wide range of readers.
Furthermore, the company plans to expand its catalogue to 4 thousand books by the end of 2023. Litres has already secured contracts with 13 national publishing houses, including Asaxiy books, Sharq, Adabiyot, and Yangi asr avlodi.
This move not only brings a diverse selection of literature to Uzbek readers but also opens up new opportunities for local authors and publishers. The entry of Litres into the Uzbek market is poised to enhance accessibility to books and promote a vibrant literary culture in the country.
