Due to the prompt actions of the employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MCHS) and the Ministry of Defense, a potential major fire in the Chatkal State Biosphere Reserve in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan has been prevented.
According to the MCHS press service, a small fire occurred in the Maidantal section of the reserve on the evening of July 8. Early in the morning, a special team from the MCHS of Uzbekistan, specialised in combating forest fires, arrived at the scene.
The Ministry of Defense also deployed forces and resources, including two helicopters equipped with water-dropping devices, as well as the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change.
Within a short period, the fire was extinguished, thereby preventing it from spreading across a significant area of the forest, as noted by the MCHS.
The head of the MCHS, Abdullah Kuldashev, personally supervised the fire extinguishing operation on-site.
