Kazakhstan's Ministry of Finance has recently approved a list of countries that have entered into an international treaty with the Central Asian country to regulate double taxation and prevent tax evasion, media reports.
The list includes a total of 43 states, counting Austria, Azerbaijan, Luxembourg, Japan, Iran, Pakistan, Italy, Canada, China, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands, Norway, Saudi Arabia, Sweden, Latvia, Malaysia, Mongolia, Armenia, Belarus, India, Ireland, Korea, Poland, Singapore, Slovenia, Tajikistan, Russia, Croatia, Romania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Vietnam, Türkiye, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, Germany, Finland, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland (only certain cantons), and Estonia.
Adopting this list follows Article 294, paragraph 1 of the Tax Code and applies to foreign-controlled companies. This order was put into action on June 19, 2023.
