Reports from Indian media inform that, an Uzbek citizen was apprehended in the Sitamarha region of Bihar, India, as they attempted to unlawfully cross the border from Nepal into the country.
The man did not have a valid passport or other identification documents with him.
"The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi is taking prompt measures to clarify this situation. To this end, contact has been established with the relevant departments of India, the situation has been taken under control," the message says.
The diplomatic mission is advising its fellow citizens to exercise caution and not be swayed by deceptive promises made by questionable groups or individuals when planning to travel to India. They are also stressing the importance of adhering strictly to the legal requirements of the country when entering and staying there.
Indian media reports indicate that, starting from the beginning of this year, a minimum of 35 individuals from over 10 different countries have been apprehended while attempting to unlawfully cross the border between Nepal and India.
