As of January 1 this year, Uzbekistan boasts 11,236 sports halls, showing an increase of 221 from last year's 11,015, as per the report by the State Statistics Agency.
The Kashkadarya region has the highest number of dedicated sports facilities, 1,127, while the Syrdarya region has 365.
Regarding regional distribution, Fergana leads the way with 1,115 facilities, followed by Samarkand with 1,072, Tashkent with 981, Namangan with 882, and Andijan with 875.
The republic of Karakalpakstan has 766, Surkhandarya region has 757, Tashkent has 745, Jizzakh region has 741, Bukhara region has 702, Khorezm region has 699, and Navoi region has the least at 409 sports halls.
