According to the Ministry of Energy, domestic consumers were supplied with 27 bn kWh of electricity during 2023, which is 1.6 bn kWh or 6.5% more than in 2022, Dunyo reports.
From January to May, Uzbekistan imported 2.5 bn kWh of electricity to meet the growing domestic demand. This is 384.6 mn kWh or 18.6% more than the same period last year.
Furthermore, during the mentioned period, 1.1 bn kWh of electricity was exported, which is 243.2 mn kWh or 18.5% less than the same period in 2022.
