Asset Issekeshev, the Assistant to the President of Kazakhstan held a meeting with Bakyt Torobayev, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan, 24.kg reports.
During the meeting, the two parties engaged in negotiations pertaining to various areas of collaboration, including trade, transit cargo transportation, logistics, and the fuel and water-energy industry.
Bakyt Torobayev emphasized the significance of discussing and resolving bilateral Kyrgyz-Kazakh cooperation issues with a spirit of mutual understanding, trust, and support.
He stated, "It is important for us to have regular meetings to address problems and obstacles related to trade and transit transportation, and to find solutions."
In addition, the conversation delved into detailed discussions about water and energy management. The parties recognized the importance of cooperation on the construction project of the Kambarata HPP-1, aimed at ensuring the efficient utilization of water and energy resources in the region. The construction of the HPP began on June 8, 2022.
