Serbia releases three Kosovo police officers detained weeks ago on charges of weapon and explosive possession, Euronews reports.
The Kraljevo court confirmed the accusations but granted them freedom. It remains unclear if the case will be tried in absentia.
This comes after the European Union mediated talks between Serbia and Kosovo. The release of the detained individuals was also demanded by Washington. Pristina insisted that the law enforcement officers were kidnapped, while Belgrade rejected the allegations.
Shortly after, Kosovo banned Serbian trucks from entering its territory, prompting reciprocal measures by Serbia.
This is one of several incidents indicating growing tensions between the two neighbors. Conflicts primarily arise from governance issues in northern Kosovo cities, where the population is predominantly Serbian while ethnic Albanians hold key positions.
