The Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports, and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan is considering canceling the concert of Russian artist Morgenshtern, AKIpress reports.
Deputy Alisher Kozuyev raised concerns about granting permission to foreign performers to hold concerts in the country, questioning if anyone can come to Kyrgyzstan and perform. Minister Altinbek Maksutov mentioned the possibility of canceling Morgenshtern's performance on stage, although private events cannot be interfered with by law.
Morgenshtern, a Russian rap and pop artist, gained popularity through YouTube parodies and relocated to Dubai following legal issues in Russia.
Previously, the Russian group "Pornofilmy" canceled their concert in Bishkek due to pressure from Kyrgyz security forces, and the show of the rock group "Bi-2" was also canceled for internal organizational reasons.
