The Birinchi May District Court of Bishkek has issued the following sentence - 3 years of imprisonment to be served in a general regime correctional colony.
On June 3, 2021, while Sadyr Japarov was visiting the Issyk-Kul region, an incident occurred involving vehicles escorting the head of state.
It is stated that a passenger car, traveling on the opposite lane, collided with the vehicle assigned to the accompanying personnel on a section of the road near the village of Ananyevo.
During the incident, five people were hospitalized, and one person died. The personal physician of the head of state was killed. The President was not in the affected vehicle.
The son of the suspect, Konokbay, stated that his father did not consume alcohol prior to driving and placed the responsibilty on an employee of the ninth division, who he says was driving in the opposite lane at a high speed.
