The Daily Mail, a popular British tabloid, featured a front-page headline that read: "Starting tomorrow: Our erudite new columnist who'll be required reading in Westminster - and across the world."
Although the newspaper did not disclose the columnist's name, British media speculates that the silhouette accompanying the headline represents former British Prime Minister, Boris Johnson.
Politico reports that sources claim that the newspaper intends to offer Mr. Johnson a substantial six-figure salary for his columns.
Earlier this week, the UK House of Commons Privileges Committee released the findings of its investigation into Mr. Johnson. The investigation centered around the Boris Johnson party scandal during the pandemic, and as a result, the former British Prime Minister announced his resignation from Parliament.
Johnson shared the report compiled by the House of Commons committee, which addressed the events surrounding the pandemic-related party.
During that time, Johnson stated, "They have not yet presented any evidence of my intentional deception of the House of Commons," contradicting the committee's assertion that he had deliberately attempted to mislead the House of Commons.
