A video of human bones found at the bottom of a reservoir near the city of Nikopol was published on June 12. One of the frames shows a skull in a German helmet from the Second World War and an old weapon.
As a result of the Novokakhovskaya hydroelectric dam's destruction and the subsequent decrease in water levels along the Dnieper River, the remains of a temporary bridge have been revealed. This bridge was originally constructed in 1944 after the German soldiers withdrew from the right bank of the Dnieper.
On June 6, 2023, the upper part of the hydroelectric dam in Novaya Kakhovka, occupied by the Russian authorities in the Kherson region, was destroyed, which caused an uncontrolled discharge of water. Both Ukraine and Russia have accused each other of being responsible for the destruction of the hydroelectric power plant.
