On June 12, a certificate awarding ceremony was held for girls who studied at the IT camp of the 13th and 26th general education schools in the city of Termiz, Surkhandarya region. "This was a very important event for me," said Saida Mirziyoyeva, head of the branch of the Presidential Administration.
Among the students of the school there were also girls from Afghanistan.
"My heart is filled with joy when I see that girls master the secrets of the modern IT industry. This IT camp was an important step in raising self-confidence of girls. Such camps, clubs, special courses that open up new opportunities for young people are an example of the results of the reforms implemented in the field of education under the leadership of the president of our country.
Also, it is very important that there are Afghan girls among the students of both schools, and they also study at a specialized camp. We all understand the difficulties faced by girls and women who want to study in a neighboring country. I am proud that Uzbekistan is helping a few of them realize their dreams.
"I hope and believe that every girl who receives a certificate today will achieve high goals in life and show herself as a highly qualified specialist," wrote Saida Mirziyoyeva.
While Afghan girls can freely partake and learn valuable skills in Uzbekistan, girls back in Afghanistan are facing mental stress fighting for their education rights according to Daryo Correspondent in Afghanistan. With the Taliban in control, women are deprived of all their human rights and left to suffer mental oppression as the "Taliban" Ministry of Higher Education, from December 2022, barred Afghan girls from entering universities.
