Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the President of Uzbekistan, and Giorgia Meloni, the Chairperson of the Italian Council of Ministers, have jointly announced the establishment of a strategic partnership between their two countries, the President's press service reports.
During the ceremony, attended by both leaders, 10 intergovernmental and interagency documents were exchanged, aiming to expand multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Italy. These documents included an agreement on mutual promotion and protection of investments, agreements on cooperation in legal matters, industrial property, and agriculture.
Furthermore, memorandums of cooperation were signed between the cultural heritage agency and the Italian trade agency, focusing on restoration efforts. Additionally, cooperation agreements were established between the Culture and Art Development Fund of Uzbekistan and the Italian Ministry of Culture in the field of culture.
Moreover, a cooperation program for 2023-2024 between the ministries of foreign affairs and a program of cultural exchanges until 2026 was also adopted. These joint declarations and agreements serve to strengthen the bilateral ties and pave the way for enhanced collaboration between Uzbekistan and Italy across various sectors.
