The President of Singapore, Halimah Yacob, arrived in Uzbekistan on May 23 for a state visit at the invitation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Before she arrived in Uzbekistan, the President and her spouse paid a state visit to Kazakhstan. They arrived in Tashkent from Astana on May 23 on Uzbekistan Airways regular flight.
The Tashkent airport raised the flags of both countries in honor of the high-ranking guest, and an honor guard was lined up to welcome the President and his spouse. They were welcomed by Deputy Prime Minister Zulayho Mahkamova, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov, and Acting Mayor of Tashkent Shavkat Umurzakov.
The President of Singapore dined at a restaurant in Tashkent. During the visit, the President and members of the Singapore delegation visited the "New Uzbekistan" park, laid flowers at the base of the Independence Monument, learned about the development of the country in the years of independence and the history of the creation of this unique complex, and met with representatives of national cultural centers.
