A Tashkent region representative office will be established in the People's Republic of China, with businessman Zafarkhoja Usmanov appointed as its leader.
This decision was made during the visit of a delegation from the Tashkent region, led by regional governor Zoir Mirzayev, to China. During their visit, the delegation first visited the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region (XUAR) and explored the digitalization processes in the medical complex there. The mayor of Urumchi praised the new working methods.
Later, the delegation met with Ma Xingrui, the secretary of the Communist Party in the area, who congratulated them on the success of the China-Central Asia summit. The importance of effective cooperation in various sectors such as construction, electrical engineering, agriculture, light industry, leather goods production, digital technologies, alternative energy sources, tourism, science, and culture was emphasized.
The Chinese side expressed its intention to form a delegation of entrepreneurs specializing in construction materials, particularly sanitary ware, and porcelain, to organize a business forum in the Tashkent region. Governor Zoir Mirzayev supported this initiative and offered to provide land for Chinese cooperation in lavender cultivation in the mountainous regions of the Tashkent region.
Additionally, the delegation held a meeting with the head of the "One Belt, One Road" association, which announced its support by providing an architect and geologist for the construction of a separate building in Uzbekistan for future "One Belt, One Road" events.
A business forum titled "Tashkent region - rising to the future - opportunities, conditions, and authority" took place, attended by representatives from the People's Government of China, industry associations, and over 50 leading companies and corporations from Uzbekistan. It was proposed to open a representative office of the Tashkent region in XUAR, with businessman Zafarkhoja Usmanov suggested as its head.
