The state leaders of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and China Xi Jinping signed a joint statement and adopted the comprehensive strategic partnership development program for 2023-2027.
Within the framework of the visit of the Uzbek President and the country’s political delegation to China, a total of 41 documents were signed aimed at further strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding practical cooperation.
These are:
- Agreement on technical and economic cooperation;
- Protocol on amendments and additions to the agreement on the establishment of the Uzbek-Chinese intergovernmental committee;
- Agreement on the implementation of the project on the development of secondary schools;
- Protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the General Administration of Customs of China on inspection, quarantine and veterinary-sanitary requirements of frozen poultry meat exported from Uzbekistan to China;
- Protocol between the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the General Administration of Customs of China on phytosanitary requirements and control in the export of grapes from Uzbekistan to China;
- Agreement on mutual recognition of programs of authorized economic operators between the Customs Committee under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan and the General Administration of Customs of China;
- Memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China on the promotion of priority investment projects;
- Memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the field of mass media between the Information and Mass Communications Agency under the administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Press Office of the State Council of the People's Republic of China;
- Cooperation program between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China for 2023-2024;
- Agreement on the establishment of partnership relations between the city of Tashkent and the province of Sichuan;
- Agreement on the establishment of partnership relations between Syrdarya region and Shaanxi province;
- Agreement on the establishment of partnership relations between Samarkand region and Shensi province.
In addition, the following important economic agreements were signed:
- on financing the project of construction of power transmission lines and substations;
- on the establishment of a multimodal logistics centre;
- On renewal and modernization of the fleet of locomotives of "Uzbekistan temir yollari" JSC;
- On the establishment of the Uzbekistan-China agro-industrial park;
- On the establishment of an agro-innovation park;
- On the establishment of the Uzbekistan-China biotechnological cluster;
- On further expansion of the telecommunications infrastructure of "Uzbektelecom" JSC;
- on the production of modern cars together with the EXEED company;
- On the production of electric and hybrid cars together with BYD Auto Industry;
- On attracting credit lines between JSC "National Bank of Uzbekistan" and "Exim Bank of China";
- On attracting credit lines between JSC "National Bank of Uzbekistan" and "State Development Bank of China";
- On cooperation with China Export and Insurance Corporation;
- On preparation of the technical and economic basis of the projects "Construction of Norin HPP Cascade" in Syrdarya Region and "Construction of Aygain HPP Cascade" in Bostonliq District of Tashkent Region;
- on cooperation in the field of development of telecommunication networks.
The sides also signed a series of memoranda:
- Between the Committee on International Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Shanghai People's Association of Friendship with Foreign Countries;
- On the establishment of the Uzbek-Chinese committee on cooperation in the field of commercial law between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Chinese Council for International Trade Assistance;
- Between the Commodity Exchange of the Republic of Uzbekistan and Dalyan Commodity Exchange;
- Cooperation between the Poultry Association of Uzbekistan and the China Livestock Association in the field of poultry farming;
- Between the Uzcharmsanoat Association of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Chinese leather industry cooperation association;
- Between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Beijing University of Foreign Languages and Culture;
- Between Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies and Liaoning Pedagogical University;
- Between Samarkand International University of Technology and Tianjin University of Science and Technology;
- Between Samarkand International University of Technology and North-Eastern Electric Power University;
- Between the University of World Economy and Diplomacy and Shanghai University.
