Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry recently convened a meeting with Oybek Shahabdinov, the head of the Office for Cooperation with European States and EU institutions, and Ambassador Charlotte Adriaen, the head of the EU Delegation. The meeting discussed the current state of EU-Uzbekistan cooperation and the prospects for its development through further bilateral and interregional activities.
Notably, Executive Vice President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis, is scheduled to visit Uzbekistan from May 17-19 to participate in the annual meeting of the Board of Directors of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) that marks a development in the partnership between Uzbekistan and the EU.
The meeting concluded with all parties highlighting the importance of organizing joint events to promote the further development of relations between Uzbekistan and the European Union. These events should focus on various spheres, including political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian.
