The upcoming visit of Emir of Qatar Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Uzbekistan has prompted the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, to undertake a recent visit to Qatar. The visit explored the potential for investment and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
During the visit, discussions were held with Qatar's Minister of Trade and Industry regarding enhancing economic relations between the two nations.
The two sides have agreed on developing a Joint Action Plan to enhance bilateral trade. In addition, they agreed upon a joint Program for improving industrial cooperation, which will involve investment projects in various sectors such as energy, petrochemistry, chemistry, agriculture, food industry, tourism, and IT industry.
Besides, a consensus has been reached on the measures to prepare for signing agreements on double taxation avoidance, mutual promotion, and protection of investments.
A joint business forum will also be organized, with efforts to be made to co-finance infrastructure projects.
