A fire exploded at the Zhanazhol gas condensate field in the Aktobe region of western Kazakhstan on May 1, media reports.
The incident occurred in a plant responsible for producing light hydrocarbons. 52 rescuers and nine pieces of equipment were dispatched to the scene and extinguished the fire. Nonetheless, four workers sustained burns and were immediately transported to the hospital; their current condition is stable.
After burning for 15 hours, the fire was officially released on May 2 at 6:20 am local time.
