During talks with China's Foreign Minister Qin Gang, Kazakhstan's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu emphasized that the strategic partnership with China remains a priority in Kazakhstan's foreign policy, media reports. In addition, the two sides discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres.
Murat Nurtleu highlighted the need for joint efforts to implement agreements reached at the highest level in expanding cooperation between the two countries, particularly in trade and investment.
The meeting also covered prospects for cooperation in transport and logistics infrastructure, e-commerce, and creating new mechanisms for interaction between participating countries. The Central Asia-China foreign ministers' meeting was established in 2020 to strengthen interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan, China, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Besides, Murat Nurtleu met with the Party Secretary of Shaanxi province, Zhao Yide, to discuss efficient cargo transportation along the China-Europe-China transcontinental route and establishing interregional cooperation. Furthermore, the launch of direct flights between Xi'an and Astana was welcomed, which will positively impact exchanges between citizens and business circles of both countries.
