A welcoming ceremony for the Airbus A330 aircraft was held at Islam Karimov Tashkent International Airport on April 21.
Uzbekistan Airways reportedly plans to use two A330 aircraft for commercial purposes in 2023-2024. Its cabin is designed for 266 passengers, 18 of them are business class seats, and 248 are economy class seats.
The first commercial flight on the Tashkent-Istanbul-Tashkent route is planned to be carried out on April 23. The second Airbus A330 aircraft is expected to be delivered to Uzbekistan on May 3, 2023.
In order to implement plans of Uzbekistan Airways, it was decided to lease two aircraft belonging to the Airbus A330 family as part of the concept of fulfilling the tasks of expanding the aircraft fleet and increasing the route network.
The relevant agreement was signed between Uzbekistan Airways and Lithuanian Heston Airlines. The company's aircraft is said to meet all safety requirements and perform medium and long-distance flights. Uzbekistan Airways reportedly plans to use this aircraft on the Tashkent-Istanbul, Tashkent-Dubai, and Tashkent-Jeddah routes.
