April may be one of the driest Aprils in Ashgabat since weather records began in the Turkmen capital in 1891, Meteojournal (Russia) reported.
So far, the city has received only 2.8 mm of precipitation, compared to the climatic norm of 32.5 mm. The percentage is 8.6%.
"Another of the many evidences of accelerating global warming processes, which has been occurring noticeably faster in the last 3-4 decades and especially in the last few years."
Ashgabat has been experiencing an atmospheric drought since December and January, which turned into a soil drought in February and March.
