Bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey surged 1.5 times over the past five years, from S$2.1bn in 2018 to $3.2bn in 2022. This was announced in the meeting between the Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan Khurram Teshabayev, representatives of the Turkiye's Ministry of Trade and the Turkish Standards Institution on April 11, Dunyo reports.
The parties highlighted that collaboration with the Turkish Standards Institution (TSE), the Turkish Accreditation Agency (TÜRKAK), and the TÜBİTAK National Metrology Institute (TÜBİTAK UME) had seen success in terms of the development of quality infrastructure.
In addition, they noted the success of the joint venture Uzbek-Turkish Testing Centre, which provides practical assistance in the testing and certification of products to hundreds of local manufacturers.
Turkiye is one of Uzbekistan's major trading partners, and the two countries have been working to increase their bilateral trade and investment ties.
