The foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan demanded that the Taliban form an inclusive government and stop restrictive measures against Afghan women, the correspondent of "Daryo" in Afghanistan reports.
At the end of the informal meeting between all parties held in Samarkand on April 13, countries issued a joint statement, where foreign ministers expressed deep concern about security in Afghanistan.
In a joint statement of the foreign ministers of Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan, all terrorist groups, including ISIS, were assessed as a serious threat to the security of the world and the region. Countries urged the Taliban to take practical measures to combat terrorism and destroy terrorist groups.
Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir Abdullahiyan said that Afghanistan's neighbors, especially Iran, are more concerned about Afghanistan's future.
"We are worried about the spread of terrorism and extremism in Afghanistan," he said, criticizing America's policy in Afghanistan, saying that Afghanistan needs cooperation and "regional solutions" rather than Western and American intervention.
High-ranking diplomats of the four countries reaffirmed their demands that the United States and its allies respond to the tense situation in Afghanistan.
This is the second quadrilateral meeting between Russia, China, Iran, and Pakistan on the issue of Afghanistan.
