The Chinese embassy in Kabul has made a statement that it supports a moderate and reasonable administration in Afghanistan, a correspondent of "Daryo" in Afghanistan reports.
The statement was issued on Wednesday, April 12, and described China's position on the current situation in Afghanistan. China has expressed that it respects Afghanistan's independence and sovereignty, religious beliefs, and traditions, and will never interfere in its internal affairs.
China also said that it expects Afghanistan to "form an open and inclusive structure, conduct a moderate and reasonable domestic and foreign policy, and have friendly exchanges with all countries, especially neighboring countries."
More than a year and a half since the Taliban took over Afghanistan, no country has officially recognized the group as the Afghan government, although some countries, including China, have received the Taliban's ambassador.
Most countries of the world are paying special attention to the formation of an inclusive government representing all ethnic groups and peoples of Afghanistan. According to Taliban critics, the current government is made up of one nation and one group. Currently, the majority of Taliban Cabinet members are Pashtuns and Taliban members, with no Hazaras or Shias. Countries expect the Taliban to respect human rights, particularly women's rights. But since the group seized power, it has reportedly deprived women and girls of education and work.
